After cooling, the formed trityl alcohol was sucked off, and the mixture was concentrated. After crystallization from isopropyl acetate, 10 g (71 %) of the product with an HPLC purity of 97 % was obtained. The HPLC purity of the product recrystallized from isopropanol was 99.5 %.
