The 13C NMR spectra of 13 Me substituted 1,3-dioxolanes were measured. The carbon chem. shifts of the Me groups imply that the 1,3-transannular nonbonded interaction of the Me groups is negligible, except in the cases of 2,2,4-trimethyl- and 2,2,4,5-tetramethyl-1,3-dioxolanes.
