Synthesis of cyclohexanone ethylene glycol ketal catalyzed by chitosan sulfate was written by Su, Qiufang. And the article was included in Huaxue Yanjiu Yu Yingyong in 2006.Safety of Ethyl 2-(2-methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)acetate The following contents are mentioned in the article:
Cyclohexanone ethylene glycol ketal (i.e., 1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane) was synthesized from cyclohexanone and ethylene glycol in the presence of chitosan sulfate. The influence factors were investigated. The results showed that the appropriate conditions were as follows: the amount of cyclohexane was 10 mL per 0.1 mol. cyclohexanone, the molar ratio of cyclohexanone to ethylene glycol was 1:1.5, mass ratio of catalyst to cyclohexanone was 3%, and the reaction time was 90 min. The yield of cyclohexanone ethylene glycol ketal reached over 85%. The catalyst could be used repeatedly. This study involved multiple reactions and reactants, such as Ethyl 2-(2-methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)acetate (cas: 6413-10-1Safety of Ethyl 2-(2-methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)acetate).
Ethyl 2-(2-methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)acetate (cas: 6413-10-1) belongs to dioxole derivatives. Dioxoles, particularly fluorinated dioxoles, are used as co-monomers to make polymers that find use in forming protective coatings for chemical resistance. Although benzodioxole is not particularly important, many related compounds containing the methylenedioxyphenyl group are bioactive, and thus are found in pesticides and pharmaceuticals.Safety of Ethyl 2-(2-methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)acetate
