These synthetic analogs were screened for antibacterial activity against both Gram-neg. (Escherichia coli) and Gram-pos. (Staphylococcus aureus) strains. Ianthelliformisamine derivative I showed bactericidal activity against Staphylococcus aureus with an IC50 value of 3.8μM (MIC = 25μM).
