The title compound, C18H20O4, is structurally similar to podophyllotoxin. It contains a fused dioxole and phenyl ring system and an unfused phenyl ring which are almost perpendicular to each other. However, this compound lacks the cyclohexyl and lactone rings which are present in podophyllotoxin.
