The electrolysis of arylolefins in presence of alkali metal bromides led to formation of 1-aryl-2-bromo-ketals in alcs. The efficiency of the electrolysis was 60-90%. The 2-methyl-1-phenyl-1-propene formed 1-bromo-2-methyl-1-phenyl-1-propene with yield of 80%. Arylolefins without benzidine H atoms formed 1-aryl-1-alkoxy-2-bromoalkanes.
